Unknown 9/13/19

Here’s a cipher of unknown type. My programs deduced the correct type and solved it without a crib, but I will provide a crib. The plaintext consists of two unrelated sentences chosen randomly from Gutenberg.org.

OKZHA HZEVR XYWNX TGLGX QOBEK GYXLY CHOKN ZKTFO BAZNI MMVZP RDFXO WYEGO HZPVO TIDXV YETDA HIDPZ CBOTN HTRLX APIMI XYVKF XPXYT KDMRQ YWWXX YRQEG DAHCL DZLZE VZIDG XQTCN AH crib: ROLOQSXC

  1. The second passage continues: NY UWJAJSYX MNR KWTR QFGTWNSL.

All of my ID tests put the correct type on top. Hill-climber solved it without a crib, but it took a little longer to solve it than usual.

    Couldn’t get the key though.

    1. The key is a two-word combination. The first is a chemical and the second word a normal verb. It’s 13 letters long, but condenses to 11 letters.
